Lullaby

I don’t count sheep,

I count mistakes

On the nights when I’m

Exhausted, but remain awake

The moon passes slow,

Not sure where to go,

Afraid of waking me

With its gentle glow

If it only were aware

That I am still there

With my eyes open wide,

An insomniac stare

I count my regrets and

The things that I’ve broken

Til the sun comes around,

Another night stolen
