Earthquake

Everything collapsed the

Moment after you spoke.

The burdened confessions

You dropped crashed to the

Ground — perhaps harder

Than you expected — and

Shattered the earth with a

Force that would make the

Richter Scale tremble with

Envy. My bones are still

Rattling from the heavy

Truths (unsettled) that loiter

Unwelcomed atop my lungs,

Crushing the last breath I

Thought I could take in peace

And reducing it to a

Sputtering gasp.
