Waning

You only ever see

Half of me at once

Depending on where the light shines

As I wait for you to

Realize that I’m not

What you were expecting to find

You’re just another star

In my constellation

A tiny piece posing a

Large complication

I’m shining like moonlight

In front of your face

Hoping you’ll figure out

The nighttime sky just

Isn’t your place
